Mino - Fly

Postby Leo » Fri Jan 08, 2010 1:10 pm

So...........I've just bought this album and Mr. Henrik Flyman is creditted as "Additional Guitar"!

Question is, Mr. Flyman:
Whats the story about this project? Its in the genre PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE so pretty far from what We normally know from Your hand!
I hear the guitar on a couple of tracks! sounds good, but Psychotrance, not really My cup of Tea, even though I have a broad taste in Music   8)

Hahaha... how in the world did you find out about that one :-). I'm impressed. The story is that Mino (a friend of mine) asked if I could record some riffs for him that he could sample for a track on that album. Since I always make things much harder for me than they have to be, I decided to record the full 7 minute track from beginning till the end (instead of just do short riffs that should be sampled like copy/paste over the full song) - and after I had recorded the song, I also did an exact double recording to make it bigger (just as I normally do when I play metal). So instead of getting 5 - 10 short 5 seconds riffs he got a 2 x 7 minute recording to use (left/right for stereo) - no sampling was needed... hahaha. Two worlds colliding in a nice way. PS. Great release party with loads of beer :-)

You're welcome :) . Yes, Mino is a drummer, producer, composer and really nice guy. This is such a long time ago, and something I did an afternoon, so I'm not 100 % sure... but... I believe I did just one track... and... after looking at the tracklist on the internet... I think it was the song called "Manushki" (if that is a long track with several variations of some guitar riffs). Hahaha Wikipedia knows about that recording. We live in such modern times :) .

Yes, its true the riffs with variations are on the track called "Manushki", but there's a more "Theme-like" guitar on the following track called "Contagious"!

Anyway......cool to find "New" material from Your hand(s) 8) 8) 8)

and..........I like the track "Dancing with the Dragons" very much!
Maybe I'm turning into a Psychedelic Trance Fan! :P :P

I agree with you Leo. It is cool to find new material from Henrik's hands. I'm definitely interested in listening to that Psychedelict Trance style...As you know, I am pretty open-minded about music styles, and my taste is very broad in that area as well. So I am certain I'll find it to my liking.....(I still have to listen to it, of course, but I know that Henrik on the guitar means....a very GOOD sound!
